of appointment scheduling and accuracy of all shipments.
Gemini Traffic
Sales Inc. has been so successful in such a competitive industry due
almost exclusively to their customer care. At Gemini we treat every
customer, no matter how big or small, with the same degree of consideration.
Below are some of the common terms used to describe different types of
shipping services that you may find helpful.
Refrigerated
LTL – Smaller freight shipments, usually 1 to 10 pallets, 500 lbs. to
15,000 lbs., which require temperature control, usually in the 34-38
degrees F range. At Gemini, we pick up refrigerated and non-refrigerated
LTL in the Northeastern states daily, consolidate
at our cross-dock in New Jersey, and deliver nationwide
direct. This unique method of transporting refrigerated LTL creates faster transit
times, nearly eliminates claims, maintains temperature integrity,
and typically guarantees delivery date and time.
Truckload – Typically refers to a full trailer load picked up, sometimes
warehoused, and then delivered in total to its destination. An economical
way to ship bulk freight up to 43,000 lbs.
Consolidation – The gathering of freight from multiple shipping points
into a Gemini terminal’s warehouse for future shipment. Your freight
is picked up within NJ, NY, DE, CT, MD, and PA and brought back to Gemini’s
terminal and loaded for delivery to its destination with a published
standard transit time.
Temperature Controlled – Your product is kept at the precise required
temperature. For LTL shipments the temperature is maintained between 34 and 38
degrees F. On full truckload shipments Gemini can maintain anywhere between -20 degrees F
deep frozen to 75 degrees F during shipment,
regardless of the external environment’s temperature.
Team – Drivers work in pairs to drive cross-country in the shortest
possible time. Drivers alternate rest breaks in order to keep the truck
moving twice as many hours per day as a solo driver. Usually reserved for
coast-to-coast moves.
Expedited – Refers to any type of exclusive handling or time definite
deliveries.
Logistics – The
planning of all aspects of shipping from pickups and storage to delivery
of multiple place or time drops.
